Why do hearts symbolize love?
Positive and negative charges help a pair of cherry mounds find each other,
and they are fused together like two piles of melting iron.
Their undersides collapse into each other like the edge of a smile,
and their feet become sharp as a scalpel.
Once inside the ribcage, its two body chambers become four.
With endless percussion, two circulate arterial nourishment
through weary feet and caressing hands,
while the other two suckle bread and butter from the veins.
